Many years of preparing and delivering plans to hundreds of clients has brought me to the work flow I have in place today. Following the work flow as close as possible will produce construction quality plans at minimal cost to you.
1. Kickoff Meeting
There is an initial kickoff meeting to review the proposed project specifications and to estimate the cost of plans. I encourage my clients to bring any hand sketched ideas, notes and pictures of designs being considered.
Following the kickoff meeting, a draft set of plans commensurate with the project requirements will be prepared using the kickoff meeting information.
Please note that the basis of my estimate is the kickoff meeting, and any adverse design changes past this point may incur additional cost.
2. Plan Revisions
Following the kickoff meeting there will be a series of meetings to discuss the latest plans. Plans will be reviewed electronically at my office and no hard copies will be produced until the plans are complete.
Typically three drafts are required to complete the project plans, however, additional drafts may be necessary to fulfill the project requirements (e.g., adverse design changes, large projects).
One (1) set of 24"x36" Reproducible Master Sheets will be provided, which can be used to purchase copies from a local printing business.
An electronic PDF copy of the plans will be emailed to a local printing business at the client's request, where future copies may be obtained for bidding, appraising and construction.
